Tom + Stacey | Deer Creek Valley Ranch Wedding Photo

This is the first day of my life
Swear I was born right in the doorway
I went out in the rain, suddenly everything changed
They're spreading blankets on the beach

Yours was the first face that I saw
I think I was blind before I met you
I don't know where I am, I don't know where I've been
But I know where I want to go

And so I'd thought I'd let you know
That these things take forever, I especially am slow
But I realized that need you
And I wondered if I could come home

I remember the time you drove all night
Just to meet me in the morning
And I thought it was strange, you said everything changed
You felt as if you just woke up

And you said
"This is the first day of my life
I'm glad I didn't die before I met you
But now I don't care, I could go anywhere with you
And I'd probably be happy"

So if you wanna be with me
With these things there's no telling
We just have to wait and see
But I'd rather be working for a paycheck
Than waiting to win the lottery

Besides, maybe this time is different
I mean, I really think you like me

-"First Day of My Life" - Bright Eyes

I couldn’t have been more excited when Stacey told me all about their beer-themed wedding. Totally a couple after my own heart! And how beautiful it was too, growlers and flowers are SO Colorado, and SO pretty! And talk about those flowers - Stacey’s Grandmother did them with the help of Lauri McSherry and Stephanie Gunter. BLOWN AWAY! Stacey’s mom, Sherry worked so hard to do most of the coordinating and planning as Stacey and Tom live out of state. Her love and attention to detail showed in everything.

The ceremony was so heartfelt and even Tom shed a few tears. I really loved their take on the unity candle by pouring their first Black and Tan and sharing that together. Deer Creek Valley Ranch has such a lovely location for the ceremony and the weather totally cooperated to give us the prettiest skies.

Of course, Tom and Stacey were surrounded by so much love and support…AND FUN! What a fun crew! They had some of the best toasts and danced under the market lights on the patio. The father-daughter dance and mother-son dance had many guests tearing up…and maybe even ME, hahaha…SO super pretty. And then the reception dance party was insane - the good kind of insane! What a perfect day!

Thanks again to all of the amazing vendors and friends + family who made the day possible and thanks to Janae Steinmark, my super-star 2nd photographer!
