How long is a family session?
1-ish hours of photography. We get everything we need for most families in one hour. And most young children are doing amazing if they give us that long! Those of you with little ones know that it can be hard to plan breakdowns and urgent snack times, so if we get an hour of great stuff and the kids (or dad) are over it after that – yay, that’s a success! But if it takes a little time to warm up or we are just getting magical moments, I don’t have a hard stop at one hour. I just want to make sure we create the best experience for you and the fam, so if everyone is happy and we get all the have-to pics right of the bat we can be done pretty quickly, but if I have to act like a weirdo to get that one kiddo to finally smile, I’m going to do whatever it takes to get the job done!
How do we choose a location?
If you already have somewhere special to you, that is awesome! Most of the time, you just tell me what kind of setting you want, and I’ll give you some location ideas. I have permits for most Open Spaces that require them, and I will do the permit research for a new location. I also have a permit for the Denver Botanic and Chatfield Gardens, so there’s no additional charge for you! If you choose a location that requires a paid permit, like Wings Over the Rockies or Roxborough State Park, you will be responsible for covering that fee.
Newborn Sessions
Where do we go for Newborn Sessions?
Nowhere – stay home! You just had a baby, so relax, I’ll come to you. You and the baby will be happier in your world. I want to capture your family as naturally as possible, so think about the places in your home that have good natural light. The living room tends to be the room with the best light, so it’s often a good starting place. I love photos in your bedroom, snuggled on your bed, and then the nursery.
If you would prefer not to do photos in your home, I do have access to a studio.
